Light Connection Meditation

Be still and let the head float as high as possible. Chin in.

Where your body touches the world below, notice the feeling. What is happening there? Sense your heaviness, sense the pressure of the ground below pushing you up, as you take nine deep breaths, each one deeper than the last. On the ninth in-breath, gently hold.

While holding the breath, floating the head, and continuing the awareness of the connection with the ground below, reach inwardly as high as you can go, to the highest, brightest, intuitive light. Be with it. And be with the ground as well.  Hold both of these in the mind at once, the experience of what is beneath and the highest light above. Hold for a while. Then gently exhale into the place where you touch that world that is below.

Breathe deeply as you continue to observe the connection.

When you are well-breathed, once more breathe in and gently hold. This time, with attention still residing in your connection to the world below, reach up to find a light that is slightly below the brightest light. The second-brightest light. Hold both the awareness of this second brightest light and the awareness of touching the world below in the mind for a while. Then exhale the energy into your connection with the world below.

Breathe deeply again as you watch the feeling of connection to the world below.

When ready, breathe in and gently hold. While holding your focus on the points you touch the below, reach up to become aware of a light which is just above your head. Hold both the awareness of this light above your head and the awareness of the points you touch the world below in the mind for a while. Then exhale into the world below.

Breathe deeply as you notice the pressure where you touch the world below. You push down. It pushes up. Each is a perception.

When fresh air has filled you again, on an inbreath hold gently. Keep your attention on the sense of presence where you touch the world below, and at the same time notice all the light inside your head. The more you notice any light, the more it will appear. Hold both your awareness of this unfolding light inside your head and your awareness of presence in your connection to the world below in the mind for a while. Then exhale into the link with the world below.

Breathe deeply as you notice the solid feeling of the world beneath you.

When you are full of air and breathing is just something you do for the fun of it, on an inbreath hold gently, keep noticing the solid feeling of the world beneath you, and become aware of a sense of light right where your collar-bones meet the breast-bone, where the throat ends and the chest begins. Let this light spread to your shoulders and let it fill your body. Exhale from this light into the ground below. Inhale from above. For some people, this energy center radiates higher love.

Breathe deeply as you bask in the light from the center at the base of the throat. Notice how the world beneath you, the world around you, welcomes this light. You bask in the light and the world welcomes it. Notice this happening for a while.

Once you are peaceful, on an in-breath, hold gently, maintain a focus of attention on how the world below feels, and notice also the bottom tip of your breastbone, the place where your ribs come together in front. Notice the kind of energy present there. This is operational energy. This is the "I Am" center in some teachings.

The more of it you notice, the more you will find. Hold both the world below and this energy center in the mind for a while. Then exhale this energy into the connection with the solid world below.

Breathe deeply from above, letting the incoming energy flow into your arms and hands, your legs and feet and into your centers, one by one.

Once your body is happy with oxygen, on an in-breath gently hold. Let attention rest on the pressure of the world below and on the I Am center and its energy.  May this energy fill you. Release the energy to all the centers.

Breathe deeply for a while, watching where you touch the world below. Reach once again to find the highest, brightest internal light. While holding this light and the awareness of the ground in mind, reach once more to find the second highest light.  Hold the highest, the second highest and the ground in your attention for a while.

Breathe a bit.

Holding these higher lights and the ground below in mind, reach up to find the light above your head. Hold all three lights in your attention for a while.

Breathe a bit.

Sit. Let the mind wander from highest to lowest, over and over again, remembering the points where you touch the world below at each step.

Notice the energy of stillness. Sit with the highest light and the ground below.

Sit for a while.

Do dishes with the highest light and the ground below.

Go to bed.
